
The Spring Festival
is on 19th May
The annual Spring Festival at St Ann’s Well Gardens in Hove takes place on Saturday (May 19) from 11am. It is a free event that brings together music, entertainment andattractions for people of all ages.
This year’s Festival, which is sponsored by the neighbouring Montefiore Hospital, promises to be bigger and better than ever. A highlight is the live music stage which throughout the day will be featuring a line up of the best local bands and singers. Other attractions include a roller disco, a skate park, an arts and crafts market, circus workshop and various sporting activities. There will be food stalls offering treats from around the world and a hog roast.
Featuring again this year is the Great Cake Competition with the Brighton & Hove WI. There are three categories, including one for younger cooks, which aretraditional Victoria sponge; freestyle and under 12.
Treasurer of the Friends of St Ann’s Well Gardens, Natalie Hall, said: "We are very excited about this year’s Festival – we’ve been planning it for months and all we need now is a bit of sunshine. The sponsorship from the Montefiore Hospital has been a real boon and has allowed us to create a wonderful event that will excite and entertain everyone.
James Dempster, the Montefiore Hospital’s commercial manager, said: “St Ann’s Well Gardens are a lovely feature of the neighbourhood and I’m delighted that the Montefiore is supporting this wonderful festival which is enjoyed by many local people. I certainly won’t be missing it!
